Vilhelm Lauritzen brought Danish functionalism to life through light and architecture. His designs balanced precision with a remarkable sense of warmth and proportion. Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894–1984) was among the first to define modern Danish architecture. His work, from Copenhagen Airport to the Radiohuset, expressed a deep respect for human experience and natural light. Lauritzen collaborated closely with lighting manufacturers to extend his design language into interiors, creating luminaires that echo his architectural ideals - harmonious, functional and beautifully resolved. Among his most celebrated works are the VL Radiohus Pendant and VL Studio Lamp, both designed for his architectural projects and still produced today.
